Polenta / Placenta

My friend M is obsessed with Fogo de Chao. Really not my cup of tea (at all), but when we went there a few months ago, the waiters brought these little sticks of goodness to the table and I was hooked. I found out they were pan-fried polenta, and ever since then, I have wanted to make polenta myself.

A few weeks ago, P sent me this article from the New York Times. When I clicked the link and saw that picture of polenta with sausage, it was love at first sight. And my mouth was watering. (Sidenote: P likes to call polenta PLACENTA. Sick.)

I was on a mission to cook this meal. I decided to jazz up the polenta with a Giada recipe for it (of course) - Polenta with Gorgonzola Cheese. I topped it with spicy and mild italian sausage from Whole Foods, Add a side of my roasted tomatos, asparagus and red onions with shaved parmesean and viola! A meal P, his friends and I loved.

Next up on my list is to make those little polenta sticks. . .stay tuned.

  1. SO I hadn't eaten in about 3 days to prepare for my dress fitting. And then last night? Polenta stick overload. Like whoa. So Good. Add spicy aoli dipping sauce? If it's wrong I don't wanna be right.
