Is Katie Couric really thinking of coming back to the Today Show? I am going to tweet her to find out. Stay tuned.

Ahh the good old days.

La Ti Ti

Thanks to L, I will now have my TiVo set to Orpah on October 29.

Oprah will be hosting a Sound of Music REUNION! ! !

For those of you who do not know, my sisters and I are beyond obsessed with the Sound of Music. And I, in particular am obsessed with Friedrich.

That one.

I am just so excited to see how well Friedrich has aged (HA) - he is now 60 years old. Eeeeek.

According to the report, "It's been 45 years since the cast had such a reunion, and they plan on dishing about behind-the-scenes dirt from the "Music" set and what they've been up to since their Oscar-winning movie was released."

Can't wait to hear all this DIRT!

Also, I am working on my group of friends being the Sound of Music children for Halloween. . .I'll let you know how that goes. I am convinced my roommate E would make the best Gretl since she's the littlest of our bunch. . .and I think I'd want to be Brigitta because she's kind of a brat and I like that.

Oh nooo.

Our favorite late night place is closing on Thursday. Where the heck will I go now for my cheeseburger hoagie?!

First, Smoke Shack closed it's doors (well, actually, the city closed Smoke Shack's doors because it didn't pass inspection. EW. Ew ew ew ew ew. Whenever I pass that place, I get queasy just thinking about how many times I ate there - sometimes sober - and how gross it must have been back in that kitchen. Barf.), and now Hoagie Hut? Fortunately though, Hoagie isn't closing for cleanliness issues. They're just moving on.

I look forward to this even before the episode is over.

Gossip Girl Recap: How Do We Know What Matters If Gossip Girl Isn’t Around to Tell Us?

Some highlights:

• Blair in that brown dress looks like she’s starved herself for two weeks for the first day of school. Real. Plus 5.

• Eva has non-famous, normal-person teeth. Plus 2.

• Milo’s face when they are talking about foster care. Plus 5.

• Also, they wear those giant keys around their necks all the time? Do Pi Kappa Alpha girls wear tiny kegs of booze around their necks, like St. Bernards? No. At least they would at least have had Tiffany make nice, demure key necklaces or something. Minus 8.

• Even though they have a whole house, the Hamilton House happy hour is conducted on the steps of the school. While we appreciate the retro Constance Billiard reference, no matter how pretty you are, the police don’t let you just drink martinis at the Franz Sigel sculpture. Minus 5.

• "Once men have tasted caviar it baffles me how they settle for catfish," Blair says when she and Serena see Nate kissing Juliet. Ew. What? Why? Why not, "tasted Bordeaux/settle for Yellowtail"? Or "flown first class/settle for coach." Or even, "eaten Oreos/settled for Hydrox"? Anything but a fish metaphor. Minus 2.

Nice Little Sunday.

For me, Sundays normally consist of brunch, working out, (attempting to) play golf, laundry, hanging out, shopping, errands, etc. Pretty low key normally, and that's the way I like it. This past Sunday, however was quite different than that.

P and I were invited by P's roommate JD and his girlfriend JM to a wine tasting at Tasting deVine in Wheaton. We took the Metra out in the morning (and actually almost missed the train. . .apparently 10:42 a.m. was a little too early for this group after a Trolley Party the night before. . .), brunched at Egg Harbor, and spent the rest of the afternoon at this cute wine shop on the main drag in Wheaton. Wheaton is one sleepy little town, especially on a Sunday morning. . .but we weren't there to hang out in Wheaton - we were there to drink DUH! Ha.

We started out with the whites: Chenin Blanc, Riesling and Viognier. I am not really a white wine drinker (but I do looooove my reds), so I ended up pouring a good portion of my white into P's glass. Oops.

For the reds, we tasted the winery's Syrah (my favorite of the bunch!), Cabernet-Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon.

This wine shop was unique because their grapes come from all over the country, yet all the wines are made at one winery in Roselle, Illinois.

All in all, I highly recommend spicing up your Sunday with a midday wine tasting. Greatttt way to get into the work week.

Ok so I am guilty as charged. Not only have I been MIA from COTPG, but I have been MIA from GChat all together! My B.

I am in the middle of moving, so have been spending my last 7 days popping Aleve every 4-6 hours and Ambien at roughly 9 pm. Seriously. It has been that stressful. (I have literally (shout out to Rachel Zoe) spoken to R ONCE in the last 7 days. Sorry R, let's try and catch up today perhaps?? Right after I go to Bed Bath and Beyond and purchase a lifetime supply of storage bags and Swiffer pads...)

Now that leases are signed and boxes are packed, the headache should be subsiding (just popped 3 Aleve). Until then, I am going back into hibernation! See you in the spring (kidding).

Are you my mommy?

I think NBC was trying to make this a cute / sweet segment, but I was pretty grossed out by it.

And if you don't feel like it (that's fine), here's a glimpse:

I just really, really hate squirrels.

The past 13/14 posts have been mine. Where is C??

Katy & Elmo.

Thoughts on this so-called "scandelous" Katy Perry / Elmo Sesame Street video?

Interesting. . .

Top Chef is without a doubt one of my all-time favorite shows. Check out Travel+Leisure's Best Top Chef Restaurants.

So excited - I have a reservation at Girl & the Goat in October!

modern mansions.

Oh, hey. A Chicago house made the list of 10 Gorgeous Modern Mansions. I'm not a huge fan of modern architecture, but I mean, I'd live in one of these I guess. Ha.

Didn't know this happened.

Ha. Kevin Arnold meets Zach Morris.

Back to the grind.

BQD and PMM's wedding was amazing. Absolutely perfect. Aspen is such a cute town, and we were all lucky enough that the weather was the best the area had seen all summer! 75 and sunny every single day. . .can't get much better than that.

A major highlight of the trip was the awesome bike ride P and I took on the Rio Grande Trail. Gorgeous!

Back to reality today.

I just love these guys.

So silly.

white girl problems.

ProGChatters (us. . .duh.) just started following whitegirlproblems on Twitter. And letttt me tell you. It is hilarious. Here are a few of my personal favorites:

Your outfit just made me puke, but at least I won't have to work out today.

I almost bought those sandals you're wearing two years ago as a joke.

It's been 17 days since anyone has asked if I'm a model.

If people would care just 10% more when deciding what footwear to put on, then I wouldn't be offended 100% of the time.

What's a hostel?

Things that are inexcusable: your new haircut.

It's 87 degrees, but the only thing that will truly complete this ensemble are my light brown UGGs.

That pedicure took way too long.

That was my last Adderall.

But seriously, I'm like *really* worried about Shiloh.

Woke up to my cashmere teddy bear staring at me. Creepy.

I need some fatter friends.

I'm not as photogenic as you would assume I'd be.

(Thanks AAE!)

P and I are jet setting to Aspen on Thursday for our friends BQD and PMM's wedding!

I am soo pumped. And what better reason to go through my closet (slash buy new clothes. . .oops) to pick out fun outfits, than for a friend's wedding weekend!

Thursday night outfit:

TBD. But will definitely be toting my Foley + Corinna Disco City Bag. It's such a cute little baby bag! Ha.

For Friday night:

Shoshanna Midnight Tie Dye Stripe Tulip Dress. Does this look familiar? Well it should. And BQD is a horrible influence on me.

For Saturday night:

The weather is looking quite good for the weekend. 75 and sunny Thursday - Sunday. . .perf! Low of 44 though. . .eek. Totes throwing in a pashmina and a fleece! With weather like this, I am hoping for a few hikes and bike rides. . .and maybe I can convince P to rent mopeds for an afternoon?!

A friend of mine recommended some great restaurants and bars we are dying to hit up. Ajax, J-Bar, Paradise Bakery, The Sky Hotel, Main Street Bakery, The Wild Fig. . .Ahh can't wait!

In honor of tonight's return of Gossip Girl (!!!). . .

Sunday is P's 25th (eeeek!) birthday and tomorrow night I am throwing him a party!

Invitations went out a few weeks ago via Paperless Post, and yesterday I was busy ordering the food, stocking up on fun napkins, plates, mixers, cute solo cups (ha), appetizers, flowers, balloons (cheesy, I know, but it is a birthday party!)

This party is a BBQ. Now, I don't know about you, but I hate when someone has to slave away at the grill all night for a BBQ, when everyone else is hanging out at the party. No fun. Since I am throwing this thang, I should probs be the one who should man the grill, right? Well, I gave that a big fat NO because I wasn't going to get all sweaty and nasty flipping 50 burgers. And I wasn't going to put P in charge of that either - it's his party after all!

So, we decided to get Smoque to cater the shindig. Smoque is one of the best BBQ places in Chicago and P and his friends happen to LOVE it. Ribs, pulled pork, Texas sausage and (my personal favorite) COLE SLAW are on the menu. See below (and try not to drool).

YUM in my tum.

I'll post some pics once it's all set up tomorrow!! Can't wait.

don't you worry your pretty little head, C

I'm hereeeee!

I've been SLAMMED at work this week and then yesterday was Rosh Hashanah (as you know), and my office gave us the day off! I was running around the city all day yesterday preparing for something BIG this weekend. Details to come!

Are you there R? It's me, C.

Seriously. Should I be concerned? Did someone snatch you up? You have not been on gchat since Tuesday, and while it appears that you have posted once since then, I still have not heard from you. Please confirm your whereabouts.

How Rude of Me

I completely forgot to wish HLR a Happy New Year! Don't try and have too much fun this New Year!

What's your resolution, HLR? Let me guess...more leopard print and Tory B!?

Googs Doods.

I really am in awe of Google's Doodles - check them all out here.

Tuesday, September 7, 2010

Hide your kids. Hide your wife.

C-Mac ran around Dewey all weekend, following in Antoine Dodson's footsteps, chanting this (amongst many other inappropriate things).

See the original...

And the remarkably hilarious Auto Tune remix...

She proceeded to walk around the East Vill singing this last night.

Run and tell that homeboy.

Friday, September 3, 2010

Is this some kind of sick joke?

HLR sent this to me this morning. I almost threw up my cereal.

(If you weren't aware, which you should be, I despise this condiment.)

Happy 9-02-10!

Hoping for a Marathon on this lovely Hurricane Earl Labor Day Weekend at the beach!

Wednesday, September 1, 2010

Oh, Shaki.

I love how she's wearing silly bands.

Loving This.

Don't really need this for anything right now, but want it. (Story of my life?)

And even cooler because it's Arcade Fire.

Thanks, HHS!

T-Minus 55 Hours.

I'm not telling you esssactly where I'm going, but you get the gist.

T-Minus 38 hours.
