Welp. The KFC Double-Down isn't going anywhere. The combo of two pieces of bacon, melted slices of Monterey jack and pepper jack cheese and a zesty sauce sandwiched between two chicken filets is apparently a hit. Originally, KFC was only going to offer it from April 12 - May 23, but Colonel Sanders and his friends decided it will be a menu staple. Interesting. . .
My friend MB is on the KFC account for the PR firm she works for here in Chicago. With a client like that, she has had plentyyy of Double-Downs (the grilled one too! How does one eat the grilled version anyway? It seems it would be slippery in you hands. . .?) She also says that the two top execs in the company ALWAYS fly on separate planes because they are the only two people in the world who know the recipe to Colonel Sander's chicken! Crazy!
Sometimes I look at that picture and am grossed out, other times I kinda want a bite. . .oops.
