No tables, No chairs, No problem!

Need a hand for a high five?? The Go Plate is a must have for LD Weekend 2K10. This way, C-Mac can get her groove on, and still manage to hold a beer AND food!

Thanks to J's boss to suggesting this gem to us!

Products that make life easier

Thank you, Daily Candy, for the email this AM, with your thoughts on "Travel Tricks of the Trade."

Without that email, I would been travelling this coming weekend with such anxiety, as I would not have thought to purchase myself some Stick on Pocket Squares....Now I can keep all of my valuables safe, and stuck to my body when travelling! Nothing like hopping out of the car after a long road trip with sticky glue stuck to your chest!

And if it weren't for this lovely morning email, I would not have come across my new favorite online shop, Solutions.

This lovely website has enlightened me on all of the great things I can buy to make my life easier.

For starters, they suggested I check out the Secret Stash. I'm thinking I don't need to bring a purse out to the bar anymore! I'll just shove my hand into my clevage and pick out my dolla dolla bills.

And if you aren't satisfied with your purchases yet, perhaps the Go Girl or the Subtle Butt might do the trick...

The Go Girl is for the OCD traveller in all of you. You will never have to sit on a toilet seat again!

And the Subtle Butt is described as: "soft-fabric, odor neutralizer pads absorb any smells that are accidentally released." So instead of having self control, just rip one and let the sandpaper placed in your lace panties cover it up for ya!

Anyone else starting to wonder if Daily Candy scoped Solutions before sending out that email? Maybe it's just me...

I'd give up my left boob.

I joked this morning that I would give my left boob to go back to college. While we all know that is not true, I cannot help but contemplate what I would give up in my life to rewind 6 years and be starting my first day of college classes today. Yes, I am still in denial that I have graduated.

I went to help move my sister into her senior apartment (aka glorified dorm) this past weekend. Of all the times I have gone back to visit this small midwest college that I spent four amazing years of my life, this is the time I have dreaded returning to the real world the most.

So, as I post this at 12:30 on Monday afternoon, sitting at my desk in NYC, my sister is sitting down at her first class of the day, surrounded by her friends, and probably didn't even bring a writing utensil to class.

Contemplating cutting off a finger to go back to the glory days? Thought so.

L's Wedding.

I know, I know. I definitely should have posted pictures / a recap / anything about L's wedding already.

But, out of respect for L & S (woop woop!), I am going to wait until they get back from their honeymoon (jealous.) before parading details of their wedding all over the internet. Sorrs! Ha.

Rover.

Have you ever checked out Fly Through Our Window?

Well, you should. For a few reasons.

1.) Darby might be the coolest blogger ever.

2.) Her family is adorable.

3.) She takes great photos.

4.) The whole fam cooks.

5.) She started a t-shirt company for kids.

6.) Her son is named Rover. ROVER. That might be the cutest name I have EVER heard for a boy. And I'm all about names. Words cannot describe how adorbs this boy is.

So go check out Fly Through Our Window and see for yourself.

Ah Life.

Just received a group email from C-Mac with the title "Ah Life."

You always know the email is going to be good when the title has anything to do with life.

The email read as follows:

So I think Katy Perry has been stalking me on the weekends - please see below lyrics - sounds a little too much like some of our weekends - oh life! hahahahahaha

Thank God It’s Friday (TGIF)! Second track from Katy Perry’s new album “Teenage Girl”

There's a stranger in my bed
There's a pounding in my head
Glitter all over the room
Pink flamingos in the pool
I smell like a minibar
DJ's passed out in the yard
Barbies on the barbecue
Is this a hickey or a bruise?

Pictures of last night ended up online I'm screwed, oh well
It's a blacked-out blur but I'm pretty sure it ruled, damn!

Last Friday Night
Yeah, we danced on table tops
And we took too many shots
Think we kissed, but I forgot
Last Friday night
Yeah, we maxed our credit cards
And got kicked out of the bars
So we hit the boulevard
Last Friday night
We went streakin in the park
Skinny dipping in the dark
Then had a menage a trois
Last Friday night
Yeah, I think we broke the law
Always say we're gonna stop op owwhoaa
This Friday night, (do it all again)
This Friday night, (do it all again)

Trying to connect the dots
Don't know what to tell my boss
Think the city towed my car
Chandelier's on the floor
Ripped my favorite party dress
Warrants out for my arrest
Think I need a ginger ale
That was such an epic fail

Pictures of last night ended up online, I'm screwed, oh well
It's a blacked-out blur but I'm pretty sure it ruled, damn

Last Friday Night
Yeah, we danced on table tops
And we took too many shots
Think we kissed, but I forgot
Last Friday Night
Yeah, we maxed our credit cards
And got kicked out of the bars
So we hit the boulevard
Last Friday night
We went streaking in the park
Skinny dipping in the dark
Then had a menage a trois
Last Friday night
Yeah, I think we broke the law
Always say we're gonna stop op o whoaa oh
This Friday night, (do it all again)
This Friday night, (do it all again)
This Friday night

T.G.I.F, T.G.I.F, T.G.I.F, T.G.I.F, T.G.I.F

Last Friday Night
Yeah, we danced on table tops
And we took too many shots

Last Friday Night

And got kicked out of the bars
So we hit the boulevard
Last Friday night
We went streaking in the park
Skinny dipping in the dark
Then had a menage a trois
Last Friday night
Yeah, I think we broke the law
Always say we're gonna stop op oh whoaa oh
This Friday night
(do it all again!)

I'm sure you got the gist of the song after the 2nd verse like those of us who received this email. However, in true C-Mac form, I had to include the entire thing. I will admit, this song does mirror some of the things C-Mac has accomplished on a Friday night (and every other night of the week for that matter). And after reading the lyrics, I assume you are all thinking "hmm I've never heard that song" (after the immediate reaction of "wow C-Mac is party animal"). Please let me spare you. This song is terrible. I was expecting something catchy, bubbly and fun! But no. Think more along the lines of Paris Hilton's Stars are Blind meets Aqua's Barbie Girl. Refrain from listening.

Stumbled Upon.

Just casually shopping the Bop and I stumbled upon these T-Bags Button Shorts.

Hmm, wonder who I'm going to say these are perfect for??

HLR, of course! Ha. She claims she can't pull off the shorts look, but I beg to differ.

Confessions of a reality TV junkie.

So we all know that I claim to hate reality TV, but truth be told...I LOVE it. I cannot get enough of it. And let's be honest, most shows these days are said to be reality anyways, so I truly can't escape it even if I tried to (which I am not).

Last Thursday I went to turn my TV on, and set the sleep timer (yes, I am one of THOSE people), and my remote control wasn't working. It was at this point that I realized how lazy I truly am (I even BBMed H-Ster as an attempt to justify this...in which she responded with laughter). Anyways, since I realized I couldn't fall asleep to my TV, I would pull up Hulu on my comp and watch something on there. While skipping over a multitude of documentaries and tv shows that involved entirely too much thinking, I settled on The Bachelor Pad. Two minutes in and I knew I was screwed. This show is so bad that it is good. And so good that I can not stop watching it.

For those of you that do not know the details of this fine reality television show, a little background:

Old bachelors/bachelorettes are chosen to live in one bedroom together (picture luxury sleepaway camp), and compete to win $250,000.00. This is where the grade A television comes into play. These aren't just any competitions. They include Twister, a pie eating contest, and last night's real toughie, a kissing contest. Oh, and to real throw people for a loop, the men vote the women off and the women vote the men off. If you do not understand where I am going with this, let me put it simply for you. The entire show is a hottness/popularity contest. And it is HILARIOUS. Not to mention these men are not half bad to look at for 2 hours on Monday night (yes, 2 hours).

If I haven't sparked your attention yet, maybe some pics of these washed up bachelors will entice you to turn on ABC next monday at 8pm EST (and please remember 95% of this show takes place poolside)...

David Good
, from The Bachelorette Season 5.

Jesse Kovacs, also from the Bachelorette Season 5. (Who is dating Elizabeth Kitts from Bachelor Season 14-who is hands down the most attractive girl on the show. But I just try and ignore that, because she is a raging biatch)

And last but CERTAINLY not least, Jesse Beck from Bachelorette Season 6. Hands down the cutest guy on the show. I would most definitely overlook the massive amount of tats to be with this guy. And a shout out to C-Mac: he's from MO!

And if these guys aren't your type, there's always The Weatherman from this past season with Ali. Whatever floats your boat.

Unfortunately I watched 2 episodes yesterday, and I'm all caught up. So, until next Monday!

Catch all!

After a long summer of being entertained every waking moment by ECQ (from the first bbm I woke up to in the morning, to our walks to Berry Wild after dinner), she has ditched me and the big apple to go back south to be a big bad senior at college----RUDE.

I had finally come to grips with my separation anxiety when a lovely package arrived at my desk one afternoon. ECQ had sent me a thank you present for being her sidekick all summer long (not a task i disliked...as I said, she kept me thoroughly entertained!). The gift was wrapped so nicely that I almost didn't want to open it! As a matter of facts, it was wrapped in so many layers and boxes that I almost thought I wouldn't be ABLE to open it (take note Dabney Lee...pipe down on the tree killing).

She knew I had my eye on the Dabney Lee Catch All, from Dabney Lee at Home. (Seriously I love everything on this website. Perfect for presents of all sorts!)

And not only did ECQ get me the PERFECT gift, but she did an excellent job deciding which style to get me! I love it love it love it!

Thanks again ECQ! And feel free to graduate early and come back to NYC to entertain me! It's going to be a looooong year without you!

An Update.

I'm adding to my list of Chicago restaurants I want to try.

Girl & the Goat. Just opened. Executive Chef Stephanie Izard - winner of my all-time fav show: Top Chef.

Market. Heard the roof was siiiick. Better get here before the weather turns - and in Chicago, that might come sooner rather than later. . .

Mercat a la Planxa. Small plates - love that!

Epic. I read about it in Chicago Social. Looks kinda cool?

Fred's at Barneys. Just because.

Not a huge addition, but just wanted to share my update.

13th.

FYI today is Friday, August 13.

As in FRIDAY the 13TH.

I'm not super superstitious (ha), but I do get freaked out by some things. In honor of this day, let's take a look at Huffington Post's 13 Weirdest '13' Superstitions.

1. Hospitals and hotels regularly have no room number 13.

2. Many cities don't have a 13th Street or a 13th Avenue.

3.
If you have 13 letters in your name, you're said to have the devil's luck.

4.
Many airports skip the 13th gate.

5.
Airplanes have no 13th aisle.

6.
Italians omit the number 13 from their national lottery.

7.
More than 80% of high rises lack a 13th floor.

8.
On streets in Florence, Italy, the house between number 12 and 14 is addressed as 12 and a half.

9.
Traditionally in hangings, there are 13 knots in the noose and 13 steps leading up to the moment of death.

10.
French President Nicolas Sarkozy may know that in France, socialites called quatorziens (fourteeners)
make themselves available as 14th guests to keep a dinner party from an unlucky fate.

11.
Many say the No. 13 pointed to the ill-fated mission to the moon, Apollo 13.

12.
Tarot Card number 13 is the Death Card, depicting the Grim Reaper.

13.
Some say that the Babylonian Code of Hammurabi (circa 1780 B.C.E.) is to blame for the No. 13 woes since the 13th law is omitted.

And there you have it.

Friday Fun Fact from H-Ster:

This day in history:

1907: The first taxicab started on the streets of New York City.

Whoop whoop. And what a wonderful day that was. If this hadn't happened, I may just be getting into work....

yumi kim.

I bought Yumi Kim's Kendra Romper on a whim earlier this week.

It arrived yesterday and when I tried it on, I was in love. It's comfortable and fun and I decided I am definitely wearing it for one of L's wedding week festivities. I might even throw it on tonight for a party on P's roof. . .

I love this romp so much, I am headed back to the Yumi Kim website to see if I should order anything else while it's all on SALE! (Oops!)

Prove it.

L does not believe that my handwriting could POSSIBLY be that cool. RUDE. (kidding!) Anyways, here is the proof...

I cannot be held responsible for the angle in which this letter appears. I have gotten in countless arguments with our scanner, and it just does not seem to want to scan anything correctly. Please ignore this.

peaceloveandproof.

C

I love my handwriting. And so does L.

My sister L's wedding is SO soon! Just 9 days away. . .ahhhH! I am SO freaking excited, and was even more excited for the big weekend when L asked me to write all the names on the placecards for the rehearsal dinner. What an honor!

Don't laugh - I'm totally serious. I really do feel honored to be doing this. A few reasons:

1. I like writing. I like writing my name, notes, letters, anything.

2. I like my handwriting. (I know that sounds a little vain, but, I mean, it is pretty good. . .haha. But honestly not as amazing as C's handwriting! Sidenote: C sent me a birthday card in July and I literally called her immediately after opening it to compliment her on the amazingness of her handwriting. I'm a lahoooserrrr.)

3. I love pens. I will be sure to pack my all-time favorite pens next week: Paper Mate Flair Point-Guard Porous Point Pens. The.Absolute.Best.

There is SO much to be excited about for next week / weekend - even the little things like writing placecards.

They look painful to wear.

Scratch that. I'm returning my Promiscuous Ryans (ha) because I found a bit classier of a nude pump on Gilt.

Kathryn Amberleigh Peep Toe Pump.

I accidentally had them shipped to my house at home, and apparently my dad opened the box because I received this text last night:

R -- did you go to a shoe website? Oops! Some shoes arrived for you today. They look painful to wear. Love, Dad.

HAHAHA. I love this text for two reasons. 1. The "painful to wear" comment, obvs and 2. My dad's use of "Oops!"

Can't wait to try them on and (fingers crossed!) prove my dad wrong.

tick tock.

I am in the market for an oversized watch. I popped into Nordstrom yesterday on the way to a meeting downtown, and came across a few that I really like. . .but I wasn't ready to pull the trigger and drop $2o0 - $300 on one just yet. Here are the top contenders:

Michael Kors Round Case Chronograph Watch.

Michael Kors 'Jet Set Iconic' Chronograph Watch.

TOYWATCH 'Plasteramic Collection' Watch.

Michael Kors Ceramic & Crystal Watch.

Coach Boyfriend Bracelet Watch.

And just for fun and because it's my all-time fav color - TOYWATCH 'Plasteramic Collection' Fluorescent Watch.

Looks like I have some decsions to make (and some birthday cash to spend!)

Right Up My Alley.

You already are aware of my obsession with stationary, cute cards, fonts and, in general, all things paper products. Well, I have stumbled upon the most amazing website ever: Paperless Post.

E introduced me to this a few months ago, and I didn't really play around with the site that much. I thought, ok, cute, a site for online invitations, whatevs.

Ummm no. This is not your average Evite. Heck no. This site has online invitations, stationary, save the dates, thank you notes, cards and more. All of the designs are elegant, fun and cute, and seriously they look exactly like a paper invite. I came back to the site a few weeks ago because I am throwing a 25th birthday party for P. I was actually planning on sending out these awesome BBQ invitations in the mail. How cute?!

But, as the party list started to grow (P is just sooooo popular haha), I realized I would be spending a little too much on printing and postage. Hence: Paperless Post! The site lets you design your own invitation - from border to font to images (I picked a cute little keg for the top of P's invitation!) It even sends it in an envelope with the guest's name on it in the email - adorbs! Unfortunately I can't paste the invitations onto this site, so you'll just have to take my word for it. Or better yet, check it out yourself and start designing!

It appears that COTPG may have flopped indeed. While R claimed that she would get back into the swing of things upon my vacation departure, she failed to follow through.

Cheese, Swine & Wine

One of my best friends from college, MCG, was in Chicago on Monday on a business trip, and it was SO fun to catch up over dinner at The Purple Pig. I'd heard about this place a few months ago, and have been dying to try their Mediterranean small plates ever since.

Though our waitress was a little annoying and overbearing with the wine list (clearly she had been to sommelier school or something because she was wayyy too into it), the dinner was awesome. We ordered the Mortadella, Balsamico & Pistachio and the Eggplant Caponata with Goat Cheese smears with crostini, Fried Manchego with Membrillo Vinaigrette and the Corn and Tomato Salad with Pesto. It was all delish!

I'm excited to go back to the Pig and try the Milk Braised Pork Shoulder with Mashed Potatoes (umm yum?), and the Braised Baby Artichokes with Fingerling Potatoes, Asiago & Salami Toscana (wowsa!).
