JUNE10COUNTDOWN.

As C mentioned, she, C-Mac and HLR will be gracing this city with their presence on June 10.

I SERIOUSLY CANNOT WAIT !

I have planned a fun-filled weekend for us. . .

Friday night dins at Sunda.

Saturday morning boat cruise. . .followed by some shopping perhaps? (Who am I kidding. . .I'll be with C and HLR and we are HORRIBLE influences on each other. . .most definitely shopping will be on the agenda.)

And then we'll start the evening at Big Star (on the patio, hopefully!). . .who knows where we'll end up.

Sunday is saved for lounging at the pool and nursing our hangovers at brunch. Not too shabby.

Yikes.

I woke up on Saturday morning to this:

WTF?? I literally had NO idea what happened to my foot on Friday night. I soon realized it was a popped blister, but I seriously freaked out when I looked down and saw this (wouldn't you??). Of course, HHS's first comment / question was, "Did you get blood in my bed?!!?!?!?" No, HHS, the blood was already crusted.

Ew, sorry that is a really gross picture.

I kinda felt like C or C-Mac that morning. They always seem to wake up with bruises and injuries and cannot for the life of them explain where they came from.

Stumbled Upon....

Alright, I didn't exactly stumble upon these by myself. T, from Toosteezy, just uploaded this article to C-Mac's facebook wall. I don't know if we have informed you of C-Mac's love for Four Loko (and if we haven't, you really shouldn't be surprised at all), but T has really got her figured out with this gift idea.

Looks like I know what I'm getting C-Mac for Valentine's Day!

Hopsicle

C-Mac recently informed me of the Hopsicle.

Umm that looks absolutely delish!

According to Urban Daddy:

Introducing The Hopsicle Experience, a frozen can of beer, sliced in half and served like a Push Pop for big kids, launching today at Diablo Royale Este.

Now, the thing about the hopsicle is that it looks like your standard can of Tecate: Red. Cylindrical. Icy cold. Except the barman-witchdoctors at Diablo have taken the “icy” bit quite literally, injecting the beer with simple syrup and lime juice, jamming a wooden stick into the hole of the can and then putting it in the freezer. For four days.

The result is a genuine beer popsicle, which the bartender must saw in half with a serrated steak knife (or samurai sword) to open. Then it’s up to you to push the wooden stick upward to dispense the hopsicle in true Push Pop style, and decide if you want your savory sweet frozen joyride bathed in tequila as well (note: you want this).

And on certain days, when those same barman-witchdoctors are feeling especially inspired, they may take their creation one step further and turn over an entire margarita machine to the conjuring of potent beer slushies.

Good thing C-Mac made a reservation at Diablo Royale next weekend. Looks like I've picked out my dessert!

woof.

We're still not sure how this happened, but HLR, C-Mac and I all woke up yesterday with bruises on our bodies. Could it have been a direct correlation with the bourb? Quite possibly.

Here's the damage on C-Mac:

Swollen? Yikess. Might want to get that checked out. . .

In preparation for the weekend's activities (and C-Mac and HLR's arrival! ! !), I am getting a mani / pedi tomorrow. Ha. And, in the spirit of the holiday season, I have decided to go with green.

The Bourb.

I've been eyeing this cocktail for a few weeks.

Thinking of making it next weekend when HLR and C-Mac are here. On our sorority's annual Christmas caroling night senior year, C-Mac was infamously overserved. . .bourbon & cider was her downfall. I am planning on recreating that night next Saturday (minus the "Baby It's Cold Outside"). Be prepared, C-Mac!

Real Simple's Bourbon Ginger Snap.

Directions
  1. In a large saucepan, combine 2 quarts water, 1 cup fresh lemon juice, 1 cup honey, and a 3-inch piece of fresh ginger (peeled and sliced); bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes. Strain into a large bowl; let cool.
  2. Add 6 cups fresh orange juice, 4 cups pear nectar, 1 liter bourbon, and 2 lemons (thinly sliced). Refrigerate for up to 6 hours. Serve over ice.
Yum!

Poop.

An email conversation with our friends from college that is too good not to share.

From: H-Ster
To: C, R, HLR, HHS, NN, MCG, KK, C-Mac
Subject: Poop Terrorism

I just heard this hilarious story from my friend. His friend, let's call her Amanda, finally hooked up with the guy she's been dating for a few weeks now. In the morning, the guy leaves for work, Amanda, unemployed, stays in bed but gets up to go to the bathroom. She ends up pooping and clogs the toilet. She tries a plunger to no avail. She then gets two zip lock bags and scoops the poop out of the toilet into the bags. She leaves the bags on the guy's kitchen table and goes back to bed.

skip ahead a few hours, Amanda leaves the apartment, walking outside realizes she LEFT THE ZIPLOC BAGS ON THE KITCHEN TABLE. She hysterically cried to the door man but he wouldn't let her up. The poop remains on the table and she has not spoken to the guy.

Would you even TELL people you did this? now people like me hear the story and tell everyone.

HHS: WAIT a second...is this an urban legend? I've heard this same exact story before...

C:
OMG this story is hilarious.

Also---why wouldnt she just leave the poop in the toilet. Like lets be honest, he probs would have thought he or one of his roommates did it....

C: No, HHS. You have told a version of this story about that girl on your swim team who pooped INTO a plastic bag.

HLR:
HHS.................

R:
OR the story of KC's RA freshman year who pooped in the hallway on the way to the shower and picked up her poop and put it into her shower caddy...

HHS:
yeah, no I am aware of both of those stories...im saying i have IN ADDITION TO hear this one as well..that makes 3 poop stories for me.

KK:
HAHAHAA I'm laughing at my desk.

OK- first of all, no. Why would you scoop your poop and then PUT IT ON THE KITCHEN TABLE?!?!? That is unbelieveably unsanitary and there's obviously doodie water all over those bags. Why didn't she hide it at the bottom of the trash can or throw it out the window or something?! ANYTHING other than put it on the kitchen table.

Idiot.

C:
Can we please reveal who amanda really is? I want to judge her more than i already am....

MCG:
And how could you go back to sleep after that?? I don't believe it. Too many holes in the story. No pun intended.

H-Ster:
I just spewed water all over my computer from laughing so hard.

What is WRONG with people? the fact that we have at least 4 similar poop stories is crazy!

H-Ster:
So that first story came out at happy hour last night. And another guy had a funny poop story too.

A guy came in for an interview at his company last week. He sits through rounds of interviews and asks by the end if he can be excused to go to the bathroom. They say no, we're heading to HR first. On the way to HR, the guy turns around and starts running down the hall - poop is falling out of his pants. My friend's boss was so mortified that the kid shat his pants bc he didn't let him go to the bathroom!!! that he went to the Gap, bought the guy a new pair of boxers and pants, and brought them to the men's room. They also had to quarantine the hallway because of his feces droppings.

KK:
What I don't understand is how poop just falls out of people like this.

Ah Life.

Just received a group email from C-Mac with the title "Ah Life."

You always know the email is going to be good when the title has anything to do with life.

The email read as follows:

So I think Katy Perry has been stalking me on the weekends - please see below lyrics - sounds a little too much like some of our weekends - oh life! hahahahahaha

Thank God It’s Friday (TGIF)! Second track from Katy Perry’s new album “Teenage Girl”

There's a stranger in my bed
There's a pounding in my head
Glitter all over the room
Pink flamingos in the pool
I smell like a minibar
DJ's passed out in the yard
Barbies on the barbecue
Is this a hickey or a bruise?

Pictures of last night ended up online I'm screwed, oh well
It's a blacked-out blur but I'm pretty sure it ruled, damn!

Last Friday Night
Yeah, we danced on table tops
And we took too many shots
Think we kissed, but I forgot
Last Friday night
Yeah, we maxed our credit cards
And got kicked out of the bars
So we hit the boulevard
Last Friday night
We went streakin in the park
Skinny dipping in the dark
Then had a menage a trois
Last Friday night
Yeah, I think we broke the law
Always say we're gonna stop op owwhoaa
This Friday night, (do it all again)
This Friday night, (do it all again)

Trying to connect the dots
Don't know what to tell my boss
Think the city towed my car
Chandelier's on the floor
Ripped my favorite party dress
Warrants out for my arrest
Think I need a ginger ale
That was such an epic fail

Pictures of last night ended up online, I'm screwed, oh well
It's a blacked-out blur but I'm pretty sure it ruled, damn

Last Friday Night
Yeah, we danced on table tops
And we took too many shots

We went streaking in the park
Skinny dipping in the dark
Then had a menage a trois

Yeah, I think we broke the law
Always say we're gonna stop op o whoaa oh
This Friday night, (do it all again)
This Friday night, (do it all again)
This Friday night

T.G.I.F, T.G.I.F, T.G.I.F, T.G.I.F, T.G.I.F

I'm sure you got the gist of the song after the 2nd verse like those of us who received this email. However, in true C-Mac form, I had to include the entire thing. I will admit, this song does mirror some of the things C-Mac has accomplished on a Friday night (and every other night of the week for that matter). And after reading the lyrics, I assume you are all thinking "hmm I've never heard that song" (after the immediate reaction of "wow C-Mac is party animal"). Please let me spare you. This song is terrible. I was expecting something catchy, bubbly and fun! But no. Think more along the lines of Paris Hilton's Stars are Blind meets Aqua's Barbie Girl. Refrain from listening.

A weekend in the burbs.

In an attempt to save money/recuperate from my 4th of July weekend in Newport, I went home to the burbs for the weekend. Knowing how much C-Mac loves CT (she plans on raising a family there one day), I invited her home with me.

All in all, a totally successful weekend. While C-Mac may have spent just as much money shopping as she would have during a night out on the town, we totally rejuvinated ourselves. Drank good wine, ate good food, hung out by the pool, and managed to be in bed by 10. Nothing beats that.

A few snapshots from our weekend away from the Big Apple....

ML had a bbq on Saturday night, and one of her friends brought flowers from her garden. While having tottie time on the deck, she began talking about her beetle problem she is having in her garden. Immediately C-Mac's ears perked up, at the sound of someone else having beetle problems. Unfortunately, this was a different type of beetle problem. While eating dinner, I noticed a beetle on the flower arrangement in front of our plates. It was a sign. If C-Mac had gone back to the city that night, as intended, she would have DEF been thrown off the tree. Look how happy that beetle looks, nestled on top of those flowers, watching us eat our bbq pork and corn on the cob!

Post dropping C-Mac at the train station, I went with my cousin, ECQ, to gather our stuff from the pool, and as we turned the corner, we came across this in the road....

Just a turkey, casually crossing the street in CT. I sent a pic of this to C-Mac to let her know what she was missing out on by taking the early train home. In typical Hoosier form, she responded "Should have hit it and we could have grilled it on the roof tonight." I'll let you judge that comment yourself.

Stumbled Upon...

Just browsing the Shopbop sale--which was so inconveniently emailed to me after a weekend of spending me entire life savings (which was close to nothing to begin with)---and I came across the PERFECT piece of jewlery for C-Mac! Kenneth Jay Lane's Amber Beetle Ring. Perhaps if she wears it, it will remind her not to get tossed off the tree anymore... just a thought! (Please refer to her gchat conversation with R to clear up any confusion you may be having).

Confirmed.

C-Mac didn't come over until noonish today, so naturally we went through her suitcase to check for undies....not a single pair to be found.

Knew.It.

She is wearing a little cocktail dress tonight. This should be interesting.....
